Saint Bernard dog breeds was used to guard the grounds of Switzerland’s Hospice St Bernard as well as to help find and save lost and injured travelers. Saint Bernard is strong and well-muscled, necessary qualities that, in the past, helped them to travel through deep snow. St Bernard are famously watchful and patient “nanny dogs” for children.

SAINT BERNARD DOG INFORMATION

Saint Bernard is loving, placid dogs. However, St Bernard is equally quick to protect family members who they believe are in danger. Because St Bernard is so friendly, gentle and tolerant, Saints can be especially good for families with well-behaved children.

Though St Bernard looks like huge teddy bears, saint is not pushovers to raise and train. Some St Bernard dog males are also dominant or aggressive toward other male dogs. In other words, you must teach your dog St Bernard to respect you.
