How to get rid of dog hiccups?  There are three things that every pet parent can do that can be very helpful to their hiccuping puppy.

Calm Irregular Breathing.

Try to make your dog’s breathing pattern become more steady and rhythmic. Usually if you get your dog to lay on his back and then give him a nice tummy rub, as it can help the hiccups subside.

Drink more Water.

Like with the humans, drinking water can assist dogs with hiccups. Just make sure that your dog drinks water much calmly and slowly.

Slow Down at the Dinner.

Hiccups may occur if your dog is eating food too fast. Try feeding him slowly and smaller portions at a time to avoid hiccups.

What if Dog Hiccups Do not Go Away?

If your dog has hiccups for more than a few hours, or if your dog’s hiccups change to a wheezing sound, which causes irregular or difficult breathing, you should take him to the vet to get him checked out. Intractable hiccups could be a symptom of a serious problem.
