The German Shorthaired Pointer is a multipurpose hunting dog breed who doubles as a great family companion. An active family, that is. This dog is highly energetic and highly intelligent. His alert, obedient and protective nature makes him an excellent watchdog.

GSPs make happy, trainable pets that bond firmly to their family. He is always up for physical activities like running, swimming, organized dog sports—in fact, anything that will burn some of their boundless energy while spending outdoors time with a human buddy.
